The United States of America has imposed sanctions on a number of Chinese companies supporting Iran’s drone program.
Five Chinese companies and one individual supporting Iran were under sanctions. The network of these companies is located in China and sells and supplies aerospace components, including those that can be used for drones. The companies on the reorganization list helped Tehran develop the Shahed-136 kamikaze UAV. This was reported by the press service of the US Treasury.
U.S. Undersecretary of the Treasury for Counterterrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian Nelson said Iran was directly involved in Ukrainian civilian casualties because Russia regularly uses Iranian drones to strike Ukraine.
Nelson added that Washington will continue to target Iranian global procurement networks that supply strike drones to the aggressor country.
Recall that the Main Directorate of Intelligence stated that companies from the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Belgium and the United Kingdom continue to produce chips for Russian missiles. The aggressor buys GLONASS-enabled electronics through numerous front companies and distributors.
