The “stop list” includes the most hostile to Russian ministers, deputies, public figures of the Baltic countries.
Russia banned entry for 144 citizens of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, among them – ministers, representatives and public figures. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Thursday, March 9.
“A decision was made to include the most hostile ministers, parliamentarians, public figures, and journalists from Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia on Russia’s stop list,” the report said.
It was determined that this step was a response to the “active lobbying of the Baltic countries of sanctions and other measures against Russia, interference in internal affairs, as well as inciting Russophobic sentiments.”
The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the people on the list were “involved in the” barbaric campaign “on the mass demolition of monuments to Soviet soldiers, the persecution of the Russian-speaking population, the rewriting of history, the glorification to Nazism and the line to escalate the conflict in Ukraine.”
Recall that earlier Estonia called for splitting the price ceiling for Russian oil. Such a move would limit Russia’s ability to finance the war in Ukraine.
