“Eyes” in orbit make it possible around the clock at any time to detect and destroy disguised Russian equipment and personnel.
The ICEYE spacecraft, obtained thanks to donations from the Ukrainians, helped identify and destroy thousands of pieces of Russian equipment during the five-month operation. This was announced on March 9 by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
It was noted that military intelligence began using the “people’s satellite” from September 24, 2022.
“During the five months of using ICEYE, employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine conducted space radar reconnaissance of nearly 1,000 places where units of the aggressor state were located in temporarily occupied and other other territories of interest of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the department said.
The spacecraft was able to identify 360 tents at the locations of the Russian occupation army, as well as 7321 enemy military objects and special equipment, in particular:

27 helicopters;

6 OTRK Iskander;

36 S-300 air defense systems;

12 air defense systems Carapace C1;

11 radar stations;

10 pontoon crossings.
“Thanks to the capabilities of ICEYE, a significant part of this list was destroyed and can be seen in the daily reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the intelligence service added.
Recall that last August, the Serhiy Prytula Foundation bought a satellite for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 600 million hryvnias collected by Ukrainians.
