Russia has questions about “granular” agreements – some of which are allegedly not implemented, Dmitry Peskov said.
Russia still does not know “where most” of Ukrainian grain goes. This issue continues to “worry” the occupying country. This was stated by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, at a briefing on Thursday, March 9.
So he answered the question of how the Russian ruling regime evaluates the grain deal, and what are the prospects for its extension or abandonment of this mechanism.
“There are still many questions among the end recipients, questions about where the bulk of the grain goes. And, of course, the issues in the second part of the agreements are known to everyone (access to markets in world for Russia’s food – ed .). There is a certain movement, but as before, Russia intends to raise this issue,” said the Kremlin spokesman.
It should be noted that on July 22, 2022, in Istanbul, the two parties signed a package of documents on the supply of food and fertilizers to the international market. As you know, Ukraine has not directly signed any documents with Russia. However, Kyiv and Moscow concluded “mirror” agreements on this issue with Turkey and the UN.
Let’s add that for a long time Russia blocked the export of Ukrainian grain to third countries with its warships. The “grain” agreements state that Russian ships will not only not interfere, but will not come within a certain distance to ships sailing from Ukrainian ports.
At the same time, Moscow has traditionally tried to achieve certain preferences for itself by agreeing to this “grain” deal. In particular, it is about the export of Russian grain. This issue is complicated by the fact that the Russian Federation fraudulently exports grain stolen from occupied parts of Ukraine, passing it off as its own.
In November, the grain deal was extended for another 120 days and will expire on March 18.
As we have already reported, in the territory of the occupied Zaporozhye region, the Russians confiscated grain from local farmers.
Zelensky and Guterres supported the extension of the grain deal
