Kosovo passport holders can stay in the EU for 90 days without having to obtain a visa.
The Council of the EU approved on Thursday, March 9, the right to travel without a visa to the European Union for holders of passports issued by Kosovo. This was stated in a press release from the legislature.
It noted that the new rules will allow Kosovo passport holders to enter the EU without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
The visa-free regime will come into effect from the entry into force of the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) or 1 January 2024, whichever comes first.
According to the procedure, additional visa-free travel with Kosovo must be approved by the European Parliament.
It is emphasized that the European Commission proposed to cancel the visa regime in Kosovo, due to the significant progress in all road map blocks. The initiative will provide a single regime for the entire Western Balkans region.
It was previously reported that Serbia and Kosovo supported the agreement On the way to the normalization of relations, proposed by the European Union.
