The heavy Leopard tanks promised by Germany and Portugal will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of March.
Combat vehicles will arrive along with trained crews, and then they can go to the front. This statement was made on March 8 by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on the sidelines of a meeting of EU defense ministers in Sweden. This is reported by the publication Spiegel.
It is noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 18 German Leopard 2A6 tanks and three Portuguese tanks.
Recall, on March 7, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak said that four Leopard tanks were already in Ukraine, ten more would be delivered at the end of this week.
Earlier it was reported that the defense concern Rheinmetall wants to buy 96 German Leopard 1 tanks from the Swiss defense company Ruag. They want to repair these vehicles and then transfer them to Ukraine.
