Fewer than 4,000 civilians remain in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, including at least 38 children. Irina Vereshchuk, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, announced this on the air of the telethon on March 7.
“At the moment, less than four thousand people remain in Bakhmut. If we talk about children, then there are about 38 of them,” he specified.
The Second Premier noted that before the war, more than 70,000 people lived in Bakhmut, of which 12,000 were children.
He added that it was often difficult for authorities to enter the city to evacuate the remaining people.
It was previously reported that Ukrainian forces continue to hold most of Bakhmut.
