A month ago, after a corruption scandal involving the purchase of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a number of media reported that Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov could be fired.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that he currently does not intend to leave his post, but does not rule out that he will resign in the future. On Monday, March 6, he said in a comment on TSN.
At the same time, he stressed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has no plans to fire him.
Reznikov emphasized that he would be able to exercise the right to leave his post after Ukraine’s victory in the war with the Russian Federation.
“I have the right to resign of my own free will when I consider it possible. I will use it after victory. After victory, I know what I will do. I have many accounts with the Russians. I believe that there is another place where you can reach them even after the victory,” he explained.
Recall that on February 14, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Lieutenant General Alexander Pavlyuk as Reznikov’s first deputy.
As you know, in January there was a scandal over the purchase of products by the Ministry of Defense at an inflated price. As a result, the Rada began to talk about the possible dismissal of Aleksey Reznikov, but this was not done.
