The head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense Arvydas Anushauskas announced the provision of new aid to Kyiv from Vilnius.
Lithuania is preparing a new aid package for Ukraine. On Monday, March 6, Vilnius provided aid to Kyiv in the amount of nearly 409 million euros. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anushauskas, the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania reported on Monday, March 6.
According to the Lithuanian official, he met with the First Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pavlyuk, who arrived in Lithuania.
Pavlyuk came to share his experience about the lessons learned from the integration of paramilitary structures into the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“The lessons learned in Ukraine help us with the goal of developing our military capabilities. We also stand to support Ukraine in all possible ways, and we are preparing a new aid package to Ukraine,” said the head of the Lithuanian Defense Ministry.
He also added that Vilnius is currently preparing a new aid package for Kyiv.
The main part of Lithuania’s aid to Ukraine is military training. In particular, this year it is planned to train 1,600 soldiers.
Lithuanian educators train Ukrainians at the national level, in Lithuania, and within the framework of the EU Learning Mission and international initiatives such as Interflex.
In addition, it is planned to develop a demining course in Lithuania in cooperation with Nordic countries.
As previously reported, Ukraine received L-70 anti-aircraft guns from Lithuania. The Ukrainian military took a two-week course in the country on the use of these Swedish anti-aircraft guns.
It was also learned that Lithuania will supply Ukraine with 36 anti-aircraft missile launchers to destroy drones.
