The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) announced that a casino network was liquidated in Kyiv and Zhytomyr. Its organizers are suspected of sharing the proceeds with the occupation authorities of Kherson.
We are talking about “millions in hryvnia equivalent.”
According to the SBU, a casino network was created in Kherson shortly before the start of the war. During the occupation of the city, she continued to work in exchange for preferences for illegal business and free movement around the city.
The attackers transferred a significant part of the “profit” in cash to the leadership of the former local occupation administration, which was headed by Gauleiter Vladimir Saldo, the SBU said.
After the liberation of Kherson by the Ukrainian army, the casino chain moved to Zhytomyr and opened a branch in Kyiv. There they decided to expand their “network”.
To do this, in the regional center, and then in Kyiv, six additional gambling establishments were opened.
Dozens of people who worked for a criminal organization were engaged in their maintenance, setting up computer equipment and recruiting personnel.
The SBU conducted about 40 searches, seized about UAH 1 million (€25,000) of daily earnings and the client base. Suspicions of committing a crime were announced to six organizers of the network.
