But the Russian Ministry of Finance does not lose heart. They believe that such estimates of budget implementation “match the dynamics.”
In the first two months of 2023, the budget deficit of the aggressor country Russia reached 2.581 trillion rubles (about $34 billion) and almost reached the annual plan at the level of 2.925 trillion rubles ($38.7 billion). This is confirmed by the data of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation on Monday, March 6.
The ministry confirmed that in January-February, Russia’s oil and gas revenues decreased by 46% compared to the same period in 2022. The reason was the fall in quotations for Urals oil and a decrease in exports of gas.
Compared to January-February 2022, the deficit increased six times, while revenues decreased by 25%. At the same time, spending increased by 52% compared to the same period in 2022, to RUB 5.744 trillion ($76 billion).
But the Russian Ministry of Finance does not lose heart. They believe that such budget implementation estimates “match the dynamics laid out in the development of the main characteristics for 2023 within the framework of the budget law.”
It will be recalled that in January Russia for the first time sold gold from the National Wealth Fund (NWF) to cover the increased budget deficit. Then it reached 1.76 trillion rubles.
