Ukrainian soldiers bravely defended their positions north of Bakhmut, trying to prevent the siege of the city.
On Sunday, March 5, the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky visited the units defending Bakhmut and the approaches to the city. This was reported by the Military Media Center on Telegram.
The commander noted that the battles for Bakhmut in the Donetsk region have reached the highest level of tension.
“The enemy has thrown additional forces into the battle Wagner. Our soldiers are bravely defending their positions north of Bakhmut, trying to stop the siege of the city,” he insisted.
The fight against this bridge has been going on for months.
“All this time, the enemy’s attempts to capture the city were broken by the tenacity of our soldiers. Our defenders inflicted heavy losses on the enemy, destroyed a large amount of equipment, forced the best attack units to throw into battle. Wagner and reduced the offensive potential of the enemy,” Syrsky emphasized.
Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue to defend Bakhmut and strengthen positions in the city. This decision was made at today’s meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander.
