The government at an extraordinary meeting today, March 6, appointed Semyon Krivonos as director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
During the meeting, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal noted that he considers all three candidates selected by the competition commission to be professionally trained to work in senior positions in the anti-corruption agency.
Shmihal also suggested that the new director of NABU consider the possibility of appointing two other candidates who made it to the final of the competition, Serhiy Hupyak and Roman Osipchuk, to senior positions in the department.
Considering the independence and professionalism of the competition commission, there is no reason to doubt the independence and virtue of each of them,” Shmigal emphasized.
The powers of the previous director of NABU Artem Sytnyk ended on April 16, 2022. At the end of 2022, a competition for the position of a new head in the department started. For which 78 candidates were nominated, of which 74 were admitted.
Recall, on March 4, the competition commission for the selection of candidates for the position of director of NABU named three winners.
