The Office of the President says that the creation of an international court for the crime of aggression against Ukraine has moved from discussing an idea to developing a specific mechanism.
All Russian killers, every organizer of aggression against Ukraine, everyone who ensures war and organizes terrorism against Ukrainians must and will be punished. This was announced on Sunday, March 5, by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
He said that “this is not just some kind of dream of justice, but this work is already underway.”
The President emphasized that last week the United for Justice international conference was held which was attended by lawyers from Ukraine, across Europe and around the world. During this, the issue of bringing the Russian Federation to responsibility was discussed.
“Step by step, we are moving towards ensuring the full responsibility of the terrorist state for everything done against our state, against our people,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, the United States announced its readiness to try Russian war criminals. Necessary changes were made in the law.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about meeting with prosecutors general from Ukraine’s partner states and international institutions. He emphasized that the world’s moral duty is to restore justice and punish war criminals.
