Ukrainian stand-up comedian Andrei Shchegel, who fled to Turkey, was embarrassed by statements about Ukraine
So, the comedian said that “Ukraine is a circus with drunken morons who have no chance for civilian life.”
He also noted that all accusations against him “are based on envy alone,” and Ukraine “no longer has a chance for a civilized life.”
Recall that Shchegel recently said that he ignored several calls to the draft board and left for Turkey with the permission of the Ministry of Culture, allegedly representing the country abroad as an artist.
Prior to that, back in May 2022, he was noted for an inappropriate joke about the dead military, saying that Instagram had become a mourning social network and those who used to fast photos from the gym now publish mourning posts about dead people.
In his podcast, Schegel said that all the accusations against him “are based on envy alone,” and Ukraine “has no more chances for a civilized life.” Well, he added that he was ready to never return to Ukraine again.
The Ministry of Culture, after Shchegel’s scandalous statements, submitted for approval by the Cabinet of Ministers a more stringent procedure for obtaining permits for temporary travel abroad of men of military age, including artists.
