Loitering aircraft bombs can fly tens of kilometers.
Russian aviation, attacking Ukraine, launches missiles remotely. They can also use corrected aerial bombs, because the enemy’s supply of missiles is not unlimited. Therefore, the aggressor can use guided aerial bombs that have wings and can fly tens of kilometers. Yuriy Ignat, the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the telethon on March 5.
It is to intercept such loitering bombs that Ukraine needs modern fighters, such as the American F-16. These “birds” can also “drive away” the Russian aviation that makes launches.
Loitering bombs can also destroy Patriot and SAMP-T air defense systems, according to an Air Force speaker. However, a large number of such air defense systems are needed to protect Ukraine.
Ignat also added that without reliable air cover, without reliable air defense means, it is impossible to succeed in a ground operation.
Recall that as of the morning of March 5, there are two surface and two underwater carrier ships of Caliber cruise missiles in the Black Sea, and the total salvo can be up to 24 missiles. The Armed Forces of Ukraine assume that the enemy will carry out targeted attacks.
