The European Union is preparing a mission to strengthen Moldova’s security sector. The mission may start working in June this year. This was reported by Welt am Sonntag.
The European External Action Service (EEAS) is reportedly working on a so-called crisis management concept in response to Moldova’s request for support.
The EU diplomat, who did not identify himself, said that there is a desire to send a civilian mission to Moldova, and the main supporters of the project are Germany, Poland, the Baltic countries, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Romania and Denmark.
As part of the mission, Moldova will receive comprehensive advice on creating an effective security sector, as well as combating cyber attacks and disinformation.
It was previously reported that Moldova may join part of the sanctions against the Russian Federation.
