The man who fatally shot a neighbor then barricaded himself in his southwest apartment. MiamiFlorida (USA), was killed by a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) squad that spent hours trying to negotiate and even sent a special robot, which the attacker shot and destroyed.
On Friday, police said the victim, a 39-year-old man, was walking home from work when he was shot and “accidentally” attacked by a neighbor who later barricaded himself in the apartment.
Relatives identify attacker Donovan Adrian Watson25 years old, on TV NBC6.
“Upon arrival, our officers found a 39-year-old man who had been shot multiple times,” a Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) spokesman said. Alvaro Zabaleta.
“We know that the victim was randomly chosen by this person. It had nothing to do with him, he did not have any quarrel, rather it was a person who was returning from work, walking to his apartment, when the subject ran into him,” Zabaleta explained.
According to the agent, the victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased has not been released as his family took advantage of Marcy’s law about confidentiality, which prevents the disclosure of identity, according to local media.
According to footage released to the media today, members of a special forces task force went to an apartment building in southwest Miami on Thursday night, where an intruder dug in.

Team Special Forces and the negotiators communicated with Watson for about an hour before sending the robot.
“When the robot approached the apartment, this person opened fire on the robot and disabled it,” a police spokesman said.
“Then he opened fire on our special response teams that were standing near the apartment in the parking lot. He left the apartment, opened fire and hit several cars several times. Then our officers shot at the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Zabaleta confirmed.
Several local media outlets this Friday compiled footage of the shooting, which began after 10 p.m. local time on Thursday and continued for several hours until early Friday morning.
No officers were injured in the shooting, and no one was in the apartment with the suspect, authorities said.
According to the established protocol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) is investigating the shooting as police officers were involved. (EFE)
