Ukraine will soon receive from the European Union the first batch of 5.7 thousand solar panels to provide electricity to critical infrastructure against the backdrop of Russian missile attacks.

The website of the European Commission says that the Italian energy company ENEL has pledged to transfer 5.7 thousand solar photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 350 W each to Ukraine.
The total capacity of these panels will be 2 MW, they will cover up to 11.4 thousand square meters. m of roofs of various public buildings in Ukraine. Delivery is scheduled for summer 2023.
These solar panels are produced in Europe, in Catania (Italy – ed.), with the support of the European Innovation Fund. They will supply schools, hospitals and fire departments with electricity,” von Der Leyen said. “I am convinced that other European companies, as well as EU member states, will be inspired by this first step so that Ukraine can rely on clean electricity produced at home.
