Law enforcement officials detained a resident of Krivoy Rog. He was accused of issuing loans for missing soldiers. The Office of the Attorney General reported this on Friday, March 3.
A likely attacker obtained the personal data of a military APU, which was lost during a combat mission on the front line. He issued loans in the name of the military, using electronic computers and duplicate SIM cards.
After that, the suspect transferred the funds to his bank accounts and made several payments through the terminals.
The man arranged cash loans in this way, using the data of about 20 missing soldiers. The total amount of loans is more than two million hryvnias.
Computer equipment, mobile phones, SIM cards of mobile operators, bank cards and cash, as well as a grenade, were confiscated from the accused.
The man was detained, he was told about the suspicion of fraud and illegal possession of ammunition, and a petition was sent to the court for a preventive measure.
Earlier, the Office of the Prosecutor General informed that the head of the business, who was convicted of supplying low-quality products for the military, is suspected of misappropriating funds on a large scale.
