The Czech Republic will replace the Russian Federation with the UN Human Rights Council

The Czech Republic will sit on the United Nations Human Rights Council until December 31, 2023.

The UN General Assembly voted for the inclusion of the Czech Republic in the Council of the World Organization for Human Rights. Earlier, Russia was not included in the Council. About that saying goodbye UN Council on Twitter.

The UN General Assembly elected the Czech Republic to the seat on the Human Rights Council vacated by Russia in April 2022.

It was noted that the Czech Republic will sit on the UN Human Rights Council until December 31, 2023.

Recall, on April 7, the General Assembly approved the suspension of Russia’s membership in the UN Human Rights Council after reports of the killing of Russian military civilians in Ukraine.

It was also reported that the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe expelled Russia from the organization.
