The diagrams showed fresh satellite images of the Russian airfield in Yeysk (Krasnodar Territory), where the fighters were based.
On February 28, information was disseminated in public about explosions at the airfield followed by a fire.
Local authorities denied everything and announced provocations. Yes, they talked about supposedly planned military-tactical exercises.
Satellite images show a different picture. In the February 22 image, there are no traces of fire around the airfield, but in the March 1 image they are. And quite substantial.
Schematics released satellite imagery from Planet Labs on March 1st. On them you can see the consequences of a fire on the territory of the air defense range, located to the west of the airfield.
Whether the airfield in Yeysk was directly affected is still unknown, the satellite has not yet recorded what the airfield looks like.
In addition, with the help of images from February 15, you can see exactly which aircraft were at the airfield before. The first satellite photo in the eastern part of the airfield shows two MiG-29 fighters, two Tu-134 passenger jets, six Su-34 or Su-37 fighters, two An-72 transports and one Il-38.
As of February 15, there were three Il-38s, one An-72 and three Su-27s in the central part of the airport.
In the western part of the airfield there is a passenger Il-62 and three transport An-24s or An-26s.
The fact that “unknown drones” attacked the airfield in Yeysk was reported on February 28 by local Telegram channels. The head of the Yeysk region claimed that these were “military tactical exercises.”
