The German defense concern Rheinmetall AG has started delivering to Ukraine automatic reconnaissance systems using UAVs. This was stated in a press release from the company.
“Rheinmetall, on behalf of the German government, is sending automatic reconnaissance systems to Ukraine. They are mainly used to survey the area, with a minimum of personnel involved. As part of this project, Rheinmetall is cooperating to the Estonian company DefSecInt,” the document said.
It was noted that the SurveilSPIRE systems consist of mobile observation posts equipped with cameras for day and night surveillance, mini-drones that can be used for patrols and other missions, and their control complex. In addition, the order includes the method of delivery of the goods.
SurveilSPIRE can be easily trailered to the desired location, and three people are required to assemble the observation point.
4G and Starlink networks are used to transmit images, to increase the autonomy of SurveilSPIRE, its mechanisms are powered by solar panels.
Earlier it was reported that the German concern Rheinmetall is ready to supply Ukraine with ammunition for the Leopard 2 tank.
It should be noted, according to media reports, the Skynex air defense system will be made in Germany for Ukraine.
