Musk’s fortunes have soared thanks to a nearly 70% increase in Tesla’s stock price this year. The company also benefited from growing demand for electric vehicles.
American businessman Elon Musk regained the title of the richest man in the world after briefly losing the title to French businessman Bernard Arnault. Bloomberg wrote this on Monday, February 27.
“After Tesla’s shares increased by 100%, the company’s owner rating also increased,” the publication explained.
Bloomberg recalled that at the end of last year, when the value of the automaker’s shares reached a minimum, the 51-year-old billionaire lost $ 200 billion of his fortune. This lowered his rating and he lost the title of the richest Frenchman to Bernard Arnault.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk’s net worth has risen to $187.1 billion. This surpasses Arno’s personal fortune of $185.3 billion.
As a reminder, Twitter Inc. faced a growing list of claims for unpaid bills after Elon Musk took over the company. Landlords, consultants and suppliers have filed at least nine lawsuits.
Elon Musk donated about 11.6 million shares of his Tesla Inc.
