The aggressor country Russia will produce 620,000 cars in 2022, which is 60% less than in 2021. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Albert Karimov, TASS reports on Monday, February 27.
“The reasons, I think, do not need to be explained here. At the same time, it should be noted that we have the largest decrease in the segment of passenger cars – about 66%, in a truck it is less – 18 %,” said Karimov at the parliamentary hearings “Automotive industry : prospects for growth and problems to be solved” in the Federation Council.
According to him, the most stable segment was buses, whose production decreased by only 1%.
According to Rosstat, the production of passenger cars in the Russian Federation in 2022 will decrease by 67% compared to 2021, to 450,000 units. Production of trucks in the Russian Federation decreased by 24.3%, to 141 thousand units. At the same time, the production of buses weighing more than 5 tons at the end of the year decreased by 15.2%, to 12.5 thousand units, less than 5 tons – by 38.2%, to 13.6 thousand units.
