Failure to comply with these requirements by the Russians in the European Union will be treated as a evasion of sanctions.
As part of the tenth package of EU anti-Russian sanctions, persons sanctioned from Russia are obliged to disclose all information about assets in the territory of the blocked countries. This is stated in the official journal of the EU.
It was noted that the European Council obliged all people and organizations included in the anti-Russian sanctions list to inform national and European regulators of their assets in EU countries. The Russians were also ordered to cooperate with local authorities to block their assets.
The resolution states that individuals and legal entities from the sanctions lists must apply to the EU authorities no later than six weeks after the imposition of sanctions. Failure to comply with these EU requirements will be treated as an avoidance of sanctions.
As reported, on February 25, the EU approved the 10th package of sanctions against Russia. The list includes 121 individuals and legal entities, introduces significant new import/export restrictions, and bans Russian propaganda media. The EU has imposed sanctions on three major banks – Tinkoff, Alfa Bank And Rosbank.
According to President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine is working to expand global and European sanctions to include Russia’s nuclear industry and Rosatom.
