The European Commission and Poland are starting to implement an initiative to find deported Ukrainian children. This was announced by the press secretary of the European Commission Dana Spinant in a briefing in Brussels.
“Since the beginning of the invasion, Russian troops have sent thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia. The abduction of Ukrainian children is a huge social problem, a tragedy and a crime. That is why, together with Poland, launching we have the initiative with the support of UN agencies. The goal is to join forces to collect evidence to find the abducted children and those responsible for the crimes are brought to justice,” said Spinant.
Detailed information about the initiative is promised within a few days.
Earlier it was reported that the EU will expand sanctions against the Russian Federation for the deportation of Ukrainian children.
