The Russian ambassador at a meeting of the UN Security Council broke a minute of silence in memory of the Ukrainians.
Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, did not stand up during a moment of silence in memory of those who died due to the Russian invasion.
He, without waiting for the end of the mourning pause, demanded to give him the floor. Nebenzia said that the Russian delegation would commemorate “all the victims since 2014” and only after that stood up.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba called on the Security Council to honor the Ukrainians who died in the war.
When the audience rose from their seats with the desire to honor the memory, Nebenzya began to knock on his microphone.
On the anniversary of the Muscovite invasion of Ukraine, the UN Security Council continued to debate this issue. The press secretary of the Ukrainian minister wrote on Facebook that the entire hall, all members of the Security Council stood behind the Ukrainian minister, bowing their heads.
However, “the disgusting man behind the Russian Federation sign” began to fuss, half get up, pound on the table and address the chairman, said Kuleba’s speaker Georgy Tikhy.
Recall that on February 23, the UN General Assembly adopted a Ukrainian resolution on the need to achieve a just peace.
