Canada to supply Ukraine with additional Leopard 2 tanks

Ottawa will send four more of its German-made tanks to Kyiv, Justin Trudeau announced.

Canada to give Ukraine four more Leopard 2 tanks. About it reported Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on his Telegram channel on Friday, February 24.

According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive an additional four Leopard 2 tanks.

“Also, Canada will provide Ukraine with an armored recovery vehicle and five thousand rounds of ammunition,” he said.

Ottawa will supply Kyiv with a total of eight Leopard 2 tanks.

As previously reported, Canada announced on February 24 that it will provide Ukraine with an additional $32 million in security assistance.

In January, Canada officially announced the transfer of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.

Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand noted that the Leopard 2 tanks that Canada is transferring to Ukraine are already in Poland.
