Turkey has started building houses for the victims of the earthquake that occurred in the southeast of the country. This was announced by the Minister of Ecology and Urban Development of Turkey Murat Kurum on his Facebook page on Friday, February 24.
According to him, the construction of 855 residential buildings in the country has started. The buildings will be built in Nurdagi and Islahi.
“All our efforts are aimed at returning our citizens to their homes as soon as possible. We immediately started working in areas where contracts have been signed and geological surveys of the land have been completed,” said Kurum.
The Turkish minister posted a video with footage of the construction work.
Remember, a strong earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred on February 6 in southeast Turkey. According to the latest data, the number of victims of the earthquake exceeded 43.5 thousand. At least $100 billion is needed to restore buildings in Turkey.
