Britain will hand over its fighters to European countries if they hand over old Soviet fighters to Ukraine.
Thus, Kyiv will be able to quickly benefit from fighters if the Allies transfer the Soviet MiG-29 or Su-24 aircraft to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This was stated by British Minister of Defense Ben Wallace, reports CNN.
If they want to hand them over, we can use our fighter jets to keep them safe, he said.
According to a London spokesman, they are already working on rebuilding their ammunition stocks because the stocks have been depleted since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The British are also looking for alternative supply chains.
Wallace noted that Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has shown that their stockpiles over the past 30 years have often borne the brunt of defense cuts. That is why they need to be restored.
Recall, US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland said on February 23 that the United States is discussing the possibility of supplying Ukraine with fifth-generation fighter jets, in particular, as part of meeting the long-term needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
