The situation in Ukraine can be resolved on the basis of a ceasefire and dialogue, according to Turkey.
The Presidents of Ukraine and Turkey Volodymyr Zelensky and Recep Tayyip Erdogan had a telephone conversation. The Turkish leader expressed his readiness to contribute to the world, but “on the basis of a ceasefire,” Anadolu said on Friday, February 24.
“President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation on Friday with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky,” the agency wrote, citing the press service of the Turkish presidential administration.
It was indicated that the leaders of the two countries exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine against the scenario of the anniversary of the massive invasion of Russian troops on Ukrainian territory, as well as the consequences of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey.
“The President of Turkey declared his country’s readiness to strengthen its contribution to bringing peace and resolving the situation on the basis of a ceasefire and dialogue,” the statement said.
China’s “peace plan” was released on Friday. It provides a ceasefire and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia as key points.
In response, the Office of the President stated that any plan providing for a ceasefire and a new demarcation line would continue Russia’s occupation and genocide on the territory of Ukraine.
Also, China’s initiative has been criticized in the US, EU and NATO.
