The women and their babies massacred as a result of the bombings on the maternity hospital. Families who survived in their destroyed houses. Citizens are being tortured for refusing to cooperate with the Russian occupier. Children and women were raped and tortured. Houses and shops were looted. Deported children. As of late February, Ukraine’s Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating more than 70,000 cases related to possible war crimes committed by Russian and pro-Russian forces since the start of the February 2022 invasion. The number of atrocities committed in just one year is simply astonishing. This is a huge challenge for Ukrainian and international investigators and judicial institutions , trusts the Attorney General’s Office. So, while the battles are raging, many actors are already working on investigations and thinking about how to prosecute the culprits.
