The German Ministry of Internal Affairs authorized the country’s central authorities to carry out this action in support of Ukraine.

On the anniversary of Russia’s attack on Ukraine on February 24, the Ukrainian flag will be raised on the German Parliament building, in front of the Bellevue presidential palace and in the office building of the German Chancellor. Bild reported this on Thursday, February 23.

Many ministries will also join the action as symbolic support for Ukraine.

The Bundestag administration said raising the flag on the parliament’s southwest tower would be “a clear sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people.”

Three of the four parliament towers usually fly the black-red-gold German flag, while the southeast tower carries the blue European flag with stars.

This action was also planned at the official residence of Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. In front of the Bellevue Palace, where the central political event on the occasion of the anniversary of the Russian invasion will take place on Friday, February 24, the blue and yellow flag of Ukraine will be raised at 7:00 am.

By order of the German Interior Ministry, the highest federal authority is directly authorized to raise the national flag of Ukraine on February 24.

It will be remembered that the German Foreign Ministry urges its citizens to refuse to travel to Russia, especially to the western regions.
