The Russian invasion of Ukraine marks its first anniversary this Friday, and Russia’s focus is on Bakhmut in the Donbas, where the bloodiest fighting of the military campaign has been raging for weeks.
More than 8,000 civilians have died since the conflict began. Ukraine according to the UN Human Rights Office, which also lists about 13,287 injured among the population.

INVASION
