After the liberation of Bucha, mass graves were discovered with the mutilated bodies of men, women, and children.
Prosecutor General Andrei Kostin said Ukraine had identified 91 Russian soldiers involved in crimes in Bucha. Work continues to hold them accountable.
He noted that during the occupation, the Russian army committed more than 9,000 war crimes in the Buchansky district of the Kyiv region.
“More than 1,700 civilians died, about 700 of them in Bucha,” Kostin told US congressmen during a visit to the city.
According to Kostin, after the liberation of Bucha, mass graves were discovered with mutilated bodies of men, women, and children.
Torture, murder, sexual abuse. This is the real face of the “Russian world” and the regime of the Russian Federation, based on complete disregard for the principles of human rights and humanitarian law,” said the Prosecutor General.
The Prosecutor General stressed that Ukraine is counting on support for the creation of an International Tribunal to hold the leadership of the Russian Federation accountable.
“Currently, 91 Russian military personnel involved in these crimes have been identified. Work continues to bring all those involved to justice,” Kostin said.
Earlier, journalists identified dozens of Russian war criminals who killed residents of the city of Bucha near Kiev. We are talking about the fighters of the 234th Airborne Assault Regiment.
It will be remembered that 461 corpses of those who died at the hands of the Russian military were found in Bucha. This city became a symbol of the brutality of the conquerors.
