On February 21, the Love Novosibirsk Telegram channel published a video showing about 100 coffins with the bodies of those killed in Ukraine. The video was filmed, as reported, at the Tolmachevo airport.
Telegram channel Love Novosibirsk reported that the recording was sent to them via a bot.
Death certificates are attached to the coffins, one of them with the name of Sergei Viktorovich Yumashev, who was liquidated by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 27 near Bakhmut, was shot in close-up.
The Novosibirsk airport called the message about the coffins brought to Tolmachevo “inaccurate information.”
The premises, which is broadcast on this video, does not belong to and is not located on the territory of Tolmachevo Airport, representatives of the airport said to the Rise publication.
“Love Novosibirsk” found data on the debt of Sergei Viktorovich Yumashev from Khakassia in the database of the Federal Bailiff Service. Siberia Realia, in turn, managed to contact Yumashev’s classmates, who said that his body would be brought to his native village of Arshanovo on February 25.
In mid-February, the BBC Russian Service and Mediazona, which, together with a team of volunteers from open sources, collect information about the Russian military killed in Ukraine, reported an increase in the number of losses of the Russian army since the beginning of 2023.
During the first two weeks of February, journalists managed to confirm the names of 1,679 dead. This, according to the BBC, is the largest increase in Russian military casualties since the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Western experts and representatives of the Ukrainian side also reported on the heavy losses that Russian troops would suffer in an attempt to attack in the Donbass.
