On February 23-24, the anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion, several waves of missile strikes are possible.
This was announced by the speaker of the command of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat during a briefing.
Russia can intimidate, but there are official statements by our military-political leadership of the state. Already on the 23rd (February) the upcoming and possible provocations have been noted more than once. For they also have a sacred date – “Defender of the Fatherland Day” or “Day of the Soviet Army and Navy”. For them, this is one of the most sacred holidays … The next day, February 24, is the anniversary of the invasion of our land. Therefore, several waves of these attacks can be expected in these two days. For the enemy obviously always does. Uses dates or the day before,” Ignat said.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also states that the number of Russian aircraft near the borders of Ukraine does not change. The Russians cannot pull it even closer because of the lack of airfields.
According to him, the same number of aircraft that the Russians accumulated at the beginning of the aggression remain near the borders – about 700 different aircraft and helicopters. Ignat recalled that the Ukrainian military had already shot down 299 planes and up to 300 helicopters. However, the enemy can replenish the lost sides by bringing up equipment from within the country.
Ignat also said that Russia has changed the tactics of shelling, hiding missiles in riverbeds.
It uses both the Dniester River and the Southern Bug, so that the missile is “pressed” to the ground as low as possible, and thus somewhere it is possible to bypass air defense systems that could potentially destroy them,” said Yuri Ignat.
