Large-scale exercises of strategic nuclear forces begin in Russia on the eve of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Europe.
The preparation of components of the strategic nuclear forces for the launch of sea- and land-based ballistic missiles, as well as air-launched cruise missiles, was confirmed. Also, as part of the preparation for the exercises, the monolith centralized combat control system of the Russian army was tested. This was reported in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
The scouts found that the aggressor checked the channels of combat control, the forces and means of the strategic nuclear forces (SNF) were transferred to the highest levels of combat readiness, and the crew of the strategic missile submarine brought the combat order to exit the launch area. In addition, 24-hour combat readiness of strategic nuclear forces for use is maintained.
Also, at the Tambov air base, the Russians deployed an auxiliary command post of the long-range aviation command.
Such actions of the military-political leadership of Russia, in particular, are an attempt to prevent Joe Biden’s visit to Europe, which is scheduled for February 20-22, through direct nuclear blackmail and weaken international support for Ukraine, the GUR noted.
Recall that earlier the military intelligence of Norway did not rule out that the Russian Federation could defiantly use tactical nuclear weapons if the war in Ukraine develops into a regional confrontation in which NATO member countries take part.
