A mobilized resident of Ternopil died four days after being sent to the front.
Bogdan Pokitko received a summons in the second half of January. The guy passed the medical examination and was called up for military service in the Ternopil United City Territorial Recruitment Center. Already on February 12, he was transferred to the front, where he died four days later. Friends and relatives of the deceased accuse the military enlistment office and the mayor of the allegedly insufficient preparation of the soldier. This is reported on social networks.
The training of the fighter (in the training unit and at the training ground) did not take place. Didn’t pass weapons training. (parsing-collection of AK and all). In the army – did not serve. How can you send a person to the front line without professional skills, practice and training? – distribute the message of the user Oksana Ogorodnik in social networks.
In the Ternopil Regional TCC, the Joint Venture has already reacted to the scandal, but stated that the soldier Pokotko, in accordance with the conclusions of the medical commission, was fit to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was called up for military service to be mobilized to the Ternopil United City Recruiting Center for one of the positions in the security company. And on February 12, he was transferred to a new place of service, where he died on February 16, 2023.
The command and personnel of the territorial centers for recruitment and social support of the Ternopil region offer sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased soldier Bogdan Pokotko, who served in the Ternopil city TCC of the Joint Venture and was part of our team, the TCC said and added that they had appointed an internal check.
Recall that in January, the head of the personnel department of the headquarters of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Roman Gorbach, stated that “there are no waves of conscription,” and the decision to mobilize each citizen is made after the conclusion of the medical commission on fitness for military service. He urged that in most cases citizens are summoned to the territorial recruitment centers (military commissariats) ostensibly to clarify military credentials.
