The Ukrainian delegation announced a boycott of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly because of Russia’s participation in it.
The delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly will ignore the meetings of the winter session of the OSCE PA in Vienna in protest of the participation of the Russian delegation in it. This was announced by a member of the delegation, MP from the faction public servant Evgenia Kravchuk on the air of the national telethon on Sunday, February 19.
“We will not take part in the official events of the Parliamentary Assembly, in any way. But we will go to Vienna to negotiate with our partners on what to do, how to get the OSCE and, at least, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly from this crisis,” the MP said.
Kravchuk stressed that the Ukrainian delegation is in favor of reforming the OSCE PA. According to the parliamentarian, one cannot tolerate a situation where “one or two countries can block all decisions.”
“This is really a dead end for any international organization where such rules apply,” the representative said.
Members of the Ukrainian delegation, together with their compatriots living in Austria, will protest against the participation of the Russian delegation in the OSCE PA in Vienna.
Earlier, Austria issued visas to Russian representatives who will participate in the OSCE winter session.
The 22nd winter session of the OSCE PA is scheduled for February 23-24 in Vienna.
Recall that in January, the head of the OSCE, Buyar Osmani, met in Kyiv with President Volodymyr Zelensky and advocated the return of the field mission to Ukraine.
