The country resisting Russian aggression will definitely join the EU, it remains only to formalize the institutionalization, assured the head of European diplomacy.
Ukraine belongs to the EU family, European culture and civilization, and will definitely become a member of the association. This was said on February 19 by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell at the Munich Security Conference, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Ukraine belongs to the EU family and will be a member of the European Union. Exactly. After everything that happened, after the bombings and killings in Russia… The future of Ukraine is in the EU. This will oblige us to change our procedural rules. This will change the size and diversity of Europe. Because if Ukraine becomes a member, many countries in the Balkans will also want to,” insisted the head of European diplomacy.
He expressed confidence that Kyiv will quickly cope with all the reforms and that Brussels should support him. According to Borrell, the European Commission “has never worked so fast before.”
“Ukraine is a member of the EU, European family, culture, European civilization. It just needs to be institutionalized. They need to do their homework, we need to help them. And we will prepare to accept Ukraine to us,” the politician said.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Ukraine needs to create a new accelerated process of joining the EU.
