Belarusians are trying to refrain from participating in the war against Ukraine on the side of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
The military intelligence of Ukraine is monitoring the Russian troops on the territory of Belarus around the clock and the attempts of the terrorist country to fully involve the Belarusians in the war against Ukraine. Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated this in a commentary to the British television channel ITV news.
We see that Belarus seems to be supporting Russia and at the same time trying by all means to refrain from joining the war. We also see how Russia puts pressure on them,” he said.
Intelligence notes that the Belarusian military will be forced to obey Lukashenka’s orders and may be involved in the invasion of Ukraine. However, in the next two or three weeks they have neither the strength nor the means to do so.
Recall that on February 16, Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko told reporters that he was ready to allow the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to use his country as a springboard for a new Russian offensive against Ukraine.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that now there is a low risk that Belarus will enter the war against Ukraine on the side of Russia. The head of state stressed that 80% of the Belarusian people do not want to fight against Ukraine.
