The Glukhovsky quartzite quarry illegally supplied the Russian military industry with materials.
The State Bureau of Investigation of Ukraine established that a Ukrainian enterprise owned by Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska supplied parts for rocket science to the Russian Federation. The press service of the State Bureau of Investigation announced this on Friday, February 17, on its Telegram channel.
According to the investigation, Glukhovsky quarry quartzites illegally supplied the Russian military industry with materials.
State Bureau of Investigation investigators established that a quarry owned by an offshore company of a Russian oligarch conducted illegal mining of high-purity quartzite, silicon and other minerals in the Bannitsky deposit in the Sumy region.
The products were illegally exported to Russia. According to operational information, the silicon could be used by the aggressor country in the production of missiles, which were then used to strike Ukrainian cities.
Based on the materials collected by the bureau, in April 2022, the court arrested the corporate rights of Deripaska’s company, land plots of deposits, other property (tractors, cars) and transferred them to the Agency for Tracing and Asset Management.
On the eve it became known that the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine nationalized among other businesses the Russian oligarch Deripaska Glukhovsky quarry quartzites and Nikolaev Alumina Refinery.
Recall that at the beginning of the war, Deripaska announced the need for a “near peace” in Ukraine. And in early October last year, he was under sanctions in Ukraine.
