Ukraine plans to reform the state reserve

The prime minister noted that the previous state reserve, which existed since 1991, has long been a “descendant of the Soviet system,” and now it is proposed to radically change the approach to its work.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine plans to approve the draft law “On State Reserves” so that the country can be given all priority items at any time. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmygal said that at the last meeting the government approved a bill on the minimum reserves of oil and oil products, the next step is the approval of the bill “On State Reserves” .

The prime minister also noted that the previous state reserve, which existed since 1991, has long remained a “descendant of the Soviet system”, and now it is proposed to radically change the approach to its work:

“First, it is proposed to create a state material reserve and a separate mobilization reserve. The mobilization reserve is our reserves, which will allow us to quickly deploy additional military production, repair equipment military, restore critical transportation infrastructure, restore the energy system, and so on,” Shmygal added.

Shmyhal said that the formation of reserves will take place in several areas: food, medical, energy, technical.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine will create a reserve stock of oil and oil products. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers develops a list of strategic minerals.
