Israel is ready to provide Ukraine with an air threat warning system for civilians. This was stated by Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen, who met with President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv today.
According to Haaretz and a tweet by Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine Mikhail Brodsky, Cohen promised that Israel would provide Ukraine with an air threat warning system in three to six months. Earlier today, the head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry said that his country is already working on developing a system for Ukrainians.
At the same time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba thanked Jerusalem for humanitarian assistance and stressed that “Israel is well aware of the list of military needs, which was also transferred to the previous government. We are waiting for responsible decisions to protect the skies of Ukraine.”
Cohen did not use the words “war” or “Russia” at the joint press conference, but twice said Israel was firmly on the side of the Ukrainian people.
Earlier, a Ukrainian top official told the media that Cohen’s meeting with Zelensky would not take place if he arrived in Ukraine “empty-handed.” We are talking about economic assistance, diplomatic and humanitarian gestures, such as support in the upcoming UN vote on the Zelensky peace initiative, which includes a demand for the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from all territories they have occupied in Ukraine since 2014, and, finally, military assistance. .
Recall, Cohen said that Israel intends to support the peace formula proposed by President Vladimir Zelensky.
