DDoS attacks disrupted the websites of the German Ministry of Defense, the Bundestag and the Chancellor. Killnet hackers claim responsibility for them.
Russian hackers have carried out a series of DDoS attacks on German government sites, the dpa reports, citing the German publication Der Spiegel.
The portals of the Ministry of Defense, the Bundestag, the federal police and a number of federal state police services have been subjected to attacks, in particular. In addition, Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s website is temporarily unavailable.
Responsibility for the attacks was claimed by hackers of the Russian association Killnet, which published a corresponding message on the Telegram channel. According to Spiegel, these are protests against the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
The Federal Information Security Administration (BSI) reports that such attacks are not very sophisticated from a technological standpoint and can be easily repelled using standard technologies.
