In fact, Washington transferred a significant part of its weapons to Kyiv from Israeli warehouses, Yoel Edelstein said.
The United States did transfer arms to Ukraine from American warehouses in Israel. Yoel (Yuli) Edelstein, Chairman of the Knesset Committee on Foreign Affairs and Security, said this in an interview with the Russian propaganda TV channel RTVi.
Thus, the Israeli confirmed the relevant information in the media.
“It is no secret that the Americans supplied most of the weapons that are in warehouses to Israel in Ukraine,” he said, adding that this did not cause negative reactions and questions from Israeli politicians.
Edelstein linked Jerusalem’s refusal to provide weapons to the difficult situation in Israel itself, as the Palestinian movement Hamas operates in the south, and the Lebanese group Hezbollah operates in the north. He also added about the threat from Iran.
According to him, Israel supposedly does not have so many weapons that it can “just share.”
He added that he was glad to hear “either a message or a leak from the prime minister’s office” about official Jerusalem plans to change its policy regarding this war. He recalled that “Russia’s main friend and partner is Iran.”
Edelstein also expressed hope that Israel will do more to support Ukraine in the future. He noted that now Jerusalem is “doing a lot in the field of humanitarian assistance” and recently “is starting to do more of everything related to warning systems and things that can help the civilian population in case of have an air attack or some kind of battle” .
It will be remembered that Israel’s Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said that Jerusalem intends to support the “peace formula” proposed by President Vladimir Zelensky.
