The financial assistance to the Czech Republic will be in addition to the $106 million provided by the United States in the fall of 2022.
The new US ambassador in Prague, Bizhan Sabet, said the United States would give the Czech Republic an additional $200 million to modernize its army as part of compensation for equipment donated to Ukraine. This was reported by CTK.
“These funds are intended to build the capacity of our Czech allies to deter and protect against the increased threat from Russia, as well as to replace the military capabilities that the Czech Republic has provided or will provide to Ukraine,” said by Sabet.
It was noted that financial assistance to the Czech Republic will be transferred in addition to the $106 million provided by the United States in the fall of 2022.
Recall that in January the Czech Republic received the first payment in the amount of 6.5 million euros from the EU fund for military equipment transferred to Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that the EU will increase the arms financing fund for Ukraine.
