Some Ukrainians who received British visas did not take advantage of Great Britain’s hospitality, but such a decision could be made later, the ambassador said.
More than 160,000 Ukrainian citizens are currently in the UK, but more than 200,000 visas have been issued in total. Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK Vadim Prystaiko announced this at a briefing, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“More than 160 thousand of our compatriots are now in the UK. In total, more than 200 thousand visas were received, which means that some of our compatriots received permission, but did not take advantage of the hospitality of Great Britain. There is nothing wrong with that, people can make this decision later,” said the ambassador.
Prystaiko noted that Ukrainians in the UK have access to free healthcare, and relevant services are working to ensure a comfortable stay for Ukrainian refugees in the country.
It was previously reported that only 11% of Ukrainians who left home did not intend to return.
The UN is asking for $5.6 billion to help Ukrainians
